MicroFinance Institutions

The Foundation believes that microfinancing contributes to fight actively against poverty. By supporting the microfinance institutions (MFIs), the Foundation therefore intends to encourage the growth of Income Generation Activities (IGAs) by women micro-entrepreneurs, thereby fostering their empowerment and self-determination within the household and curbing their economic exclusion.

If you are a Microfinance Institution (MFI) and you extend loans in priority to women, you can apply for support from the PPR Corporate Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights.
Your MFI must also fulfil the selection criteria defined by the Foundation.

Form of partnerships between the PPR Foundation and MFIs

Financial backing is formalised in an agreement signed between the MFI and the Foundation and awarded in the form of an “honour loan”. The funds granted are then loaned by the MFI to women micro-entrepreneurs whom the institution agrees to monitor throughout the micro-loan maturity term. Progress and monitoring reports on the use of the funds and the micro-entrepreneur’s project are forwarded to the Foundation on a regular basis.

Becoming a partner MFI of the PPR Foundation

All proposals for partnership must first be submitted for approval to one of the Foundation’s governance bodies, i.e. depending on its scope the Selection Committee or the Board of Directors.
If you wish to apply for a loan from the Foundation, send us an email with detailed data on the activities of your FMI, its accreditations, micro-loan beneficiaries, monitoring method, amount of the loan requested, etc.
