Debate on Female Genital Mutilation at Fnac Ternes store in Paris
Let’s watch the video of the debate organised by the PPR Foundation at Fnac Ternes store in Paris on the occasion of the International Women’s Day and the release of Desert Flower movie.
Linda Weil-Curiel, lawyer and leader in the CAMS (Commission for the Abolition of Genital Mutilation), Professor Millez, President of the ethical committee of the international Federation of obstetrical genecology, Christine Beynis, President of the national Federation GAMS (Women Group for the Abolition of Genital Mutilation) and Aurélie Gal-Régniez, Project Manager for the organisation Équilibres & Populations discuss about excision.
Other debates on women’s rights and health took place at French Fnac stores in Lyon, Nantes, Boulogne and Grenoble.
€55,000 to fight against Female Genital Mutilation
That’s the amount collected thanks to the special Desert Flower Preview organised on March, 7 by the PPR Foundation supported by PPR Group. All the funds have been given to the Équilibres & Populations French NGO to support its pilot project to promote the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation in Malian communities. The Desert Flower movie gathered more than 130,000 admissions! Watch the video presenting the NGO's action in Mali, which will be developed over 100 villages in 2010/11 thanks to these funds.

The Foundation on a mission to Pakistan
Discover in pictures the Dar-Ul-Aman, shelters for women victims of violence, in Pakistan. The PPR Foundation supports the programme piloted by the NGO Médecins du Monde in partnership with the province of Punjab, which aims at improving medical, psychological and social services, to reach self-management in 2012.

THE EVENT OF THE MONTH
500 women for a better world
March, 27 and 28, the 5th meeting “Women for a better world” gathered female politics from Africa, Europe and Latin America in Valence, Spain. Among them figured 56 ministers, 2 Heads of State (Finland and Liberia) and African representatives for 50 of the 53 countries. They asked for a stronger women involvement in the international financial system reform.

The auction of the artist’s photos is organised on May, 31. The collected funds will be donated to the French organisation Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes.
