The team presented an assessment of the Foundation’s activities during these first 10 months: projects supported in partnership with NGOs, Staff Projects, actions to raise awareness about violence against women, launch of the Website…
Discussions were enhanced by the contributions of two external speakers:
the coordinator of the «Médecins du Monde» project in Pakistan provided an update on the project and the geopolitical situation,
an expert in women’s rights from the Human Rights Watch association presented a detailed overview of violence against women, the various forms it takes in different countries and cultures, and the major stakes.
The Board paid tribute to the work accomplished this first year, and validated the Foundation’s strategy for 2010, based on the same guidelines as the 2009 strategy, with the following aims:
To perpetuate partnerships with NGOs to assist them in the medium term,
To involve more PPR employees in fighting violence against women and promoting women’s empowerment,
To reinforce Brands Projects in favour of women’s dignity and rights
To continue raising awareness within and outside the Group, particularly as regards domestic violence and Female Genital Mutilation.
