Launched in 2008, the pilot project was already a success in the region of Kayes in Mali, where 60 villages officially abandoned the traditional practice of excision. Equilibres & Populations will extend its project to 40 new villages over 2010/2011. The objectiv is to integrate 100,000 persons to the project before end 2010 to avoid the excision of 2,000 girls.
